![]() ![]() For PC/Mac/Pi, I would recommend taking a look at the Zero Delay Encoder, Xin Mo Encoder, and IPAC series. If you want both high quality parts and LED functionality, though, be warned that it can come at a pretty steep price.įor an encoder, hardware that reads button/joystick presses and sends the data to a host (PC/PS2/X360/etc), you have to consider your use case. Do thorough research and if you care about quality, you should be buying branded parts like IL/Happ/Crown/Sanwa/Seimitsu. I personally would be wary of X Arcade parts, I believe they use cheap clones for their sticks and buttons. The parts are dead simple and I think you are better off researching what parts are right for you than having a company tell you what's good for you. The hardest part about making a controller/cabinet/control panel is the enclosure, because it requires lots of planning, woodwork/plexi work, and tools. I would be hesitant to buy a kit because it's basically a package of parts when you can get better parts and understand differences between the parts better. r/DIY now has a Discord channel!
